Gc8foreva and I have decided that us Opponauts in Los Angeles/SoCal need to have a meet before the end of the summer. Lets get some details out of the way. All of these are negotiable and liable to change. If anyone has suggestions, please comment away and invite friends.
The idea: A sort of Oppositelock BBQ/Meet. Bring your cars, bring food, bring camp chairs and chill out!
The location: I was thinking the lot near the carousel at Griffith Park may be a good place for it to be. I believe they have build in mini-BBQs and they have loads of parking. I'll be going there for a meet next weekend and will scout out the area. I'm open to suggestions with lots of parking and places to hang out.
The date: We were thinking either the weekend of August 9th/10th or August 16th/17th. Please let us know which day would work better (Saturday or Sunday).
The time: From 10:30 AM on?
Rules: Be chill, no hooning

Lol well it is a bit of a drive for me from Vegas and I will be in AZ the weekend before (if it is the first weekend listed, otherwise that point is null) so... Maybe.

I still consider that to be relatively close, I just hate driving into LA becasue I know it will cost me 2x as much to get home thanks to your amazing gas prices.

I'm actually supposed to be down there on the 9th-11th, so you may get an appearance from a Nor Cal person.

I'm interested! I'd have to drive up from San Diego, but I don't mind. It'd be cool to meet up with some fellow Opponauts.
I would prefer either the 9th, or the 16th though. I work Sundays and can not get them off, so Saturdays would be my only chance of making it. If you do it on Saturday after 10, there's also the possibility of going to Cars and Coffee Irvine before hand as well.
I don't really know many places up in LA, so wherever everyone else decides upon is fine by me.

Yes! After C&C Irvine would be great! I'll be down from WA with my car and I'm definitely going to C&C Irvine (if nothing horrible happens to the car on the way down) and this would be a great after event.

right.... I mean either the 10th or the 9th work for me, since Il'l be in the area, though the 9th would most likely be a definite, while the 10th would be a maybe. My replay was to what you said about trying for saturday. Either way, just let us know what you all decide and if I can make it it'll be fun and if not I'll be sad.

Ah. I'm leaning towards Sunday because Gc8foreva, the other guy helping plan this, works Saturdays so he couldn't do it then. Let me know! I'm going to scout out the location next Sunday, so I'l go from there.

I mean I can't give a definite answer either way until I'm make it down there. I'll be leaving Tacoma, WA next wednesday (the 30th) in an Alfa Romeo so hopefully I make it. But If I make it and am in the area on the 10th and don't get dragged to anything by my Grandma then I will definitely try and be there. Just let me know the time and place and date.

Nice. Not sure when I'll be working yet, but I usually close — so off work at 10pm. I'm totally down for hopping on the road and driving to LA after work. That'd get me there by like 5am. Sleep a couple hours in the park in my car, and I'm good to go. :D

Surprised there's not a bigger turnout — LA is a pretty big place. I've got some friends who wanna make a beach trip, they could throw down for gas. We've got August break from the 5th to the 25th, so asides from work I'm free.
